Cas­tle char­ity night Acous­tic Juice and Pixie Perez will be here to en­ter­tain us at the Cas­tle Inn on Fri­day from 7.30pm. We will be hold­ing an auc­tion of some fan­tas­tic items and all pro­ceeds are be­tween Velin­dre Can­cer Care and Prostate Can­cer UK. Tick­ets are £10 each in­clud­ing re­fresh­ments and are avail­able from the Cas­tle Inn and the Vil­lage Store. It prom­ises to be a great night. Christ­mas con­cert Ys­gol Llan­gain and Llanst­ef­fan’s Christ­mas con­cert will be on Wed­nes­day, De­cem­ber 12, at 1.30pm in Llan­gain Hall and 6pm at Llanst­ef­fan Hall. Church news There are no ser­vices at Llanst­ef­fan Church next Sun­day but ev­ery­one is wel­come to join us at Llan­ll­wch Church for a United Com­mu­nion Ser­vice at 10.30am and a ser­vice of car­ols at 7pm. Many thanks to our ded­i­cated team of ladies and their helpers and also our guest Mansel Charles and his con­sort and the whole com­mu­nity who helped raise the sum of £900 at our Christ­mas fair.

Box­ing Day swim A re­minder that the big swim this year or­gan­ised by Roger Davies, our Mock Mayor, will be held on Box­ing Day and the tide should just about be right at 10.30am for the big dash. Get spon­sor­ship and raise cash for a worth­while cause or sim­ply take a dip for fun.

Sil­ver Swans classes The very en­joy­able bal­let class at Llan­gain Memo­rial Hall on Mon­days from 3pm to 4pm will con­tinue un­til De­cem­ber 10. It is a drop-in ar­range­ment so please call and see what we do. It is suitable for all ages and our tu­tor Lli­nos Mc­Carthy is a qual­i­fied teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance. Cost of a ses­sion is £5.

Llan­gain panto The 20th an­niver­sary show is a re­turn to the orig­i­nal panto, Red Rid­ing Hood, but with a dif­fer­ence. Pre­sented by the Llan­gain Play­ers it will be on Fri­day and Satur­day, Jan­uary 4 and 5. Evening per­for­mances start at 7.30 pm and the mati­nee on Satur­day starts at 2.30pm. Tick­ets are now on sale at £7 each with a con­ces­sion­ary price of £6 or buy a fam­ily ticket for £20. Hub There is no Hub this Thurs­day but on Thurs­day, De­cem­ber 13, there will be a vil­lage Christ­mas mar­ket in the Memo­rial Hall from 10am to 4.30pm. Lo­cal crafts­peo­ple will have lots of unique items for sale so do drop in and en­joy the many craft stalls and also sea­sonal mu­sic from the won­der­ful Keith Mar­shall and Mia Peace. They will pro­vide the en­ter­tain­ment in the morn­ing and in the af­ter­noon the chil­dren from Llanst­ef­fan Pri­mary School will en­ter­tain with a med­ley of songs from their Christ­mas con­cert. Lots of Christ­mas sweet­meats to sam­ple. This is a fundraiser for the Memo­rial Hall.

WI re­minder The coach tak­ing mem­bers to their Christ­mas func­tion at Rhos­maen will de­part the Square at 6.15pm on Mon­day and will pick up at the Bridge, Llan­gain and in John­stown. Best dressed prop­erty Trustees of the Sports As­so­ci­a­tion are again hold­ing a best dec­o­rated prop­erty con­test and we would like to lots of houses lit up over the fes­tive pe­riod. Win­ners will be an­nounced at the Christ­mas Eve com­mu­nity carol singing which starts in the Hall at 6.30pm. Mulled wine and mince pies will be served and Santa will drop by too.
