Per­sain Af­ter singing at the Dine­fwr Christ­mas Fayre at New­ton House, Llan­deilo, and the Aber­glas­ney Christ­mas Fayre, lo­cal ladies’ choir Per­sain are look­ing for­ward to cel­e­brat­ing fur­ther Christ­mas events. On Fri­day we hold our an­nual Christ­mas cel­e­bra­tion con­cert at All Saints Church, Am­man­ford. The con­cert be­gins at 7pm and our guests this year are vi­o­lin­ist Abi­gail Ham­mett and Saron School Choir. Tick­ets are avail­able at the door or from choir mem­bers – tele­phone 01268 592900. We look for­ward to a very en­ter­tain­ing evening. On Tues­day, Per­sain will be en­ter­tain­ing at Ty Dyf­fryn in Tiry­dail at 7pm, and we end our Christ­mas events by singing at Leekes in Cross Hands from 12.30pm to 1pm and 1.30pm to 2pm on Sun­day, De­cem­ber 16.

Peny­groes Se­nior Ci­ti­zens The an­nual Christ­mas din­ner will be held at the Kings Head on De­cem­ber 13; more de­tails from Mar­ian (01269 842422). Mulled wine and mince pie evening Pe­tals Gar­den Cen­tre, Ty­croes, will be host­ing their pop­u­lar an­nual mulled wine and mince pie evening to­day from 5pm till 9.30pm. There will be 10% from all pur­chases on the evening, with a raf­fle, all pro­ceeds go­ing to­wards the Old Mill Foun­da­tion. There will also be a sin­ga­long with Llandy­bie Ladies’ Choir and a cof­fee shop sell­ing hot drinks, cakes and more. More de­tails are avail­able from 01269 596388.

Flower demon­stra­tion The Grow­ing To­gether Group will be hold­ing a flower demon­stra­tion to­mor­row from 10am at the Pen­sion­ers’ Hall, Am­man­ford. Ad­mis­sion is £1,which in­cludes a drink/ bis­cuits. Raf­fle tick­ets will also be avail­able for a £1,with a beau­ti­ful flo­ral ar­range­ment up for grabs.

Break­fast club Is a new friend­ship group started at Ty Dyf­fryn, which meets every Mon­day for a full break­fast, tea/ cof­fee and toast for £5 a week, while also mak­ing new friends,at the Ty Dyf­fryn Restau­rant, Rhodfa Frank, Am­man­ford, SA18 2QE. Car boot sale Every Sun­day, there is a car boot sale be­hind Shop­pers World, Am­man­ford, be­tween 8am and 2pm; re­fresh­ments are also avail­able.

Tea dance A tea dance (se­quence, ball­room, line, etc) will be held at Ty Dyf­fryn on De­cem­ber 18, all wel­come. Char­i­ta­ble boost Staff at Spec­savers, Am­man­ford, wish to thank res­i­dents for help­ing to raise £145 in aid of Cere­bra, the chil­dren’s char­ity sup­port­ing kids with brain con­di­tions and their fam­i­lies, via a bake sale with peo­ple mak­ing small dona­tions for a taste.

Christ­mas mar­ket Am­man­ford Mar­ket will con­tinue to run a weekly Christ­mas mar­ket, every Sun­day from 10.15am to 1.15pm at the Pen­sion­ers’ Hall, Am­man­ford. Pro­mot­ing lo­cal busi­nesses and the mes­sage to shop-lo­cal. Also, on Fri­day, De­cem­ber 21, come and re­lax and un­wind at a pam­per week­end, times to be con­firmed.

Full Monty for char­ity On Satur­day, Jan­uary 12, the Am­man Val­ley Full Monty will be held at Bry­nam­man Hall Cin­ema at 8pm, or­gan­ised by Saron Hall and Deb­bie Elias, and rais­ing money for breast and prostate can­cer char­i­ties.

Knit and Nat­ter Ses­sions are be­ing held at Am­man­ford Bowls Club, Manor Road, every Tues­day from 6pm to 8pm, all wel­come what­ever your level of knit­ting. A small con­tri­bu­tion of £1 to the club to at­tend and the can­teen is open for drinks and snacks. More de­tails from Sue (594798) or Sherri (592400) if re­quired. Christ­mas con­cert Cor Meibion Llandy­bie with Cor Meibion Dine­fwr present an evening of car­ols and read­ings on Fri­day, De­cem­ber 14, at Llandy­bie Parish Church, com­menc­ing at 7pm. Ad­mis­sion is free, but a col­lec­tion will be made at the end of the con­cert.

Choir needs new di­rec­tor Llandy­bie Male Voice Choir ur­gently needs a new mu­si­cal di­rec­tor. We are a small choir who are deeply in­volved within the com­mu­nity.
