Charity quiz night Amman United RFC will be hosting a charity quiz night tomorrow from 7pm, all proceeds towards Worldwide Cancer Research; entry £1 per player, with a raffle, refreshmen­ts, plus some fantastic prizes. Many thanks to all the local companies for their support and for donating prizes. Police and community together The next Cwmamman Pact meeting will be tonight at 7pm at Bro Ryan, Glanaman. Sporting equipment available Ysgol y Bedol would be very grateful if anyone would support them by voting for them at Tesco, Ammanford. The school could get as much as £3,000, which would go towards sporting equipment. Cwmamman Senior Citizens Will meet on Thursday at the Community Centre, High Street, Glanaman, between 2pm and 4pm. Members were very sorry to hear of the passing away of one of our loyal members, Yvonne James of Maesybont, and extend sympathy to her family. We hope all enjoyed their Christmas dinner at Garnant Golf Club. Birthday wishes are expressed belatedly to two members, Mair Howells and Vera Zahorec. Many thanks to those who continue to bring raffle donations,and help with the tea.

Centre events A new dance school started at the community centre, Glanaman, on Tuesday, November 27. Meanwhile, a new sewing class began on November 22, while an extra tai chi class will be beginning on December 11. All the other regular classes continue, please contact centre manager Elin Rees for any further informatio­n needed, on 07971 522906.

Clwb yr Aman events Amman United RFC’s annual Christmas dinner will be on December 15; please see Eleanor Templeton for tickets. The Amman Juniors’ Christmas party will be held on December 16. Looking ahead, on December 22 the first XV squad will have their annual Christmas jumper day, with a turkey shoot. Boxing Day is again charity day, with a Past versus Present match, followed by Chris Summerill in the clubhouse, plus an auction.

Well done To two pupils at Ysgol y Bedol, namely Morgan and Evie, who held a cake stall and raised £65.70 for the charity Hands up for Downs; llongyfarc­hiadau, blant.

Choir in concert Cor Meibion Dyffryn Aman will be in concert at Garnant Golf Club on Saturday, December 15, commencing at 7pm. Tickets are £5,and bar meals will also be available. Wedding anniversar­y Very best wishes to well-known Twyn, Garnant, couple John and Freda Lyons, of Oakfield Road, who celebrate their 57th wedding anniversar­y on Sunday.

Braving the shave Well done to Charlotte Rogers, who braved the shave at Ysgol y Bedol, in Smiling Faces’ group when Charlotte had her locks cut and shaved to raise money and awareness for Macmillan.

Juniors’ Christmas party Cwmamman United AFC junior section’s Christmas party will be held on Saturday and Sunday at Ysgol y Bedol, including entertainm­ent from Mr Crumble, plenty of hot/cold drinks, hot dogs, chocolates and more.

Well done, Flynn Cwmamman United AFC as a club are very proud of one of their young products, goalkeeper Flynn Williams, who travelled to London on November 24 with the Swans Under-9s’ academy to play against the Arsenal academy.
