Deadline passes with £1m prize unclaimed

-

A MYSTERY lottery winner has missed the deadline to claim their £1 million prize.

Camelot, which runs The National Lottery, has announced recently that the ticket holder had not come forward.

Appeals to find the winner of the EuroMillions draw on June 22 were made, but nobody came forward to claim the Millionaire Maker prize after more than 180 days.

The ticket holder bought their ticket in Ceredigion, and the deadline to claim the prize was at midnight on December 19, 2018.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at The National Lottery, said: “Unfortunately, I can confirm that the ticket holder did not come for- ward within the deadline to claim their prize and has now sadly missed out on this substantial amount of money.

“To avoid this unfortunate situation happening again, I would urge all National Lottery players to check their tickets on a regular basis.

“We tried very hard to find the ticket holder and it’s a real shame that they have missed out, but there is still one winner – the nation.

“This money, and all the interest earned over the 180 days, will now go to benefit projects all over the UK funded by The National Lottery.”

In total, around 2,150 projects in Ceredigion have shared more than £84 million in National Lottery funding since the lottery began.
