Football match ends in chaos
THIS is the moment a mass brawl saw an amateur football match descend into chaos.
Violence marred the closing stages of Carmarthen Town United’s Carmarthenshire League Division 2 clash against AFC Hendy last weekend, with almost every player on the pitch involved in the melee six minutes from time.
A video emerging on social media of the inci- dent appears to show one Hendy player initially taking exception to an aerial clash with a Carmarthen opponent, before clattering him to the ground from behind.
It proves to be a flashpoint, with one member of the Carmarthen side responding by apparently launching a rugby tackle towards one of his counterparts.
Plenty of pushing and shoving ensues, with sev- eral players also appearing to throw punches.
The game, which the hosts by this point were winning 4-0, is eventually ended prematurely by the referee.
The Carmarthenshire FA have refused to confirm whether or not the result in favour of Carmarthen Town United will stand, adding that it will await the West Wales FA’s own investigation into the incident.
