Village start year in style

GARDEN Village began 2019 in style with a comfortable 4-2 victory at Aberdare Town in Welsh League division two.

Scott Smith, Kurtis Morgan, Ryan Morgan and Callum Silcox were on target for the Stafford Common side.

The defeat heaped more misery on bottom side Aberdare, who are yet to win a league match this season and have just two points from 18 matches.

Village’s win lifted them to 10th place, while they have games in hand on most of the sides below them.

They are back in action on Friday evening when they host Risca United, who are two places below them in the table.
