Trio storm to easy win

CARMARTHEN Golf Club Seniors returned to action by playing in an accumulator competition.

This involves one score out of three to count on the first six holes, two on the next six and all three for the last six.

Many of the teams were still in the mix after 12 holes, but the pressure of all three scores counting told on a few of them.

However, the trio of Tony Jones, John Bevan and Haydn Harries kept their form and were clear winners with 80 points.

It was closer for second with Alan Edwards, Graham Williams and Dai Elias with 76 a point ahead of Tim Harries, Nick Ingram and Mike Davies in third.

The only twos were recorded by Alan Edwards and Jimmy Crawford.

The next competition is a best two out of three.
