Lead­ers stay on track for ti­tle with Rail­way swept aside

LEAD­ERS Co­r­a­cle A re­sumed where they left off as the New Car­marthen & Dis­trict Men’s Win­ter Darts League spon­sored by Grem­lin Club re­turned after the Christ­mas break.

They en­joyed a re­sound­ing 6-1 win at Rail­way B.

Se­cond-placed Black Lion kept up the pres­sure with a 5-2 suc­cess over Car­pen­ters.

Also vic­to­ri­ous on the road were White Lion, 4-3 over bot­tom side Foun­tain Inn. Stag’s Head nar­rowly won their derby over No­mads 4-3.

Divi­sion two run­away lead­ers Co­r­a­cle B won 5-2 against Rail­way A. Se­cond-placed Wheat­sheaf went down 4-3 at home to Farm­ers Arms.

Queens A beat Plough & Har­row Se­lect 4-3 and there was also a 4-3 suc­cess for Grem­lins over Friends Arms.

This Thurs­day and Vice Cap­tains’ tour­na­ment at Grem­lin Club. This year sees a change of for­mat as any two of three nom­i­nated cap­tain or vice-cap­tains play sin­gles against an­other team, with a game of dou­bles to be used in case of a de­cider.

The league is also tri­alling a blind pairs tour­na­ment on the same night at Rail­way Club for any play­ers not in­volved at the Grem­lin Club.
