Two arrested in £40,000 ‘cannabis cultivatio­n’ swoop

TWO people have been arrested in a rural part of west Wales after drugs worth an estimated £40,000 were found at a farm.

Police raided the property in Crymych, eight miles south of Cardigan, on Tuesday.

Inside an outbuildin­g they discovered a “cannabis cultivatio­n” which contained around 100 plants at different stages of growth.

Officers estimate that the street value plants is £40,000.

A man in his 60s and a another in his 30s were both arrested on suspicion of the production of cannabis, and released under investigat­ion, which police said was “ongoing”.

A spokeswoma­n for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “Two arrests were made as of the a result of a drugs warrant carried out at a former farm in Crymych on Tuesday, January 8.

“A cannabis cultivatio­n containing around 100 plants at various stages of growth was found in an outbuildin­g.

“The estimated street value of the plants is £40,000.

“A 63-year-old man and a 34-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of the production of cannabis.

“They have been released under investigat­ion.”
