Jarrett’s joy as Fera again show their title credential­s

YSTALYFERA once again demonstrat­ed their One West Central title credential­s with a thumping 50-7 win against Aberavon Quins.

Josh Jarrett starred with a hattrick, Paul Davies helped himself to a brace while Jonathan Bayliss and Luc Caines were among the other scorers.

The win saw them jump to 52 points but second-placed Glynneath, who have 42 points, and third-placed Bonymaen, who are on 40, both have a game in hand.

Brynaman edged out Maesteg Celtic 27-24 and Skewen went down 33-20 at Kenfig Hill.

Two West Central leaders Birchgrove won for the 12th time in the league this season as they saw off Builth Wells 33-17.

Luke Myatt, Nathaniel Llewellyn, Josh Key, Lee Harris and Mathew Edwards scored the tries and Edwards added four conversion­s.

Resolven are now nine points back with two games in hand.

Tries from Corey Harris, Johnny Phillips and Aled Jones steered Nantyffyll­on to a 19-11 win over Seven Sisters. Nigel James kicked two conversion­s.

Taibach won 18-9 at Nantymoel, while Morriston’s bid for a third win on the bounce ended as they lost 30-26 at home against Porthcawl.

Three West Central A leaders Abercrave scored three tries in their 20-6 home win over Neath Athletic and are now eight points clear of Pyle, who were defeated 35-27 at home by Vardre.

Luke Curtis and Daniel Llewellyn were among the scorers for Vardre in an entertaini­ng clash in which both sides scored four tries.

Bryncoch beat Aberavon Green Stars 19-15 to make it three in a row, while Cwmgors won 32-15 at Glais.

Dylan Hills crossed twice, with Paul Davies and Owen Davies, who was making his senior debut, scoring the Cwmgors tries.

After recent difficulti­es in raising a side, Glais can certainly hold their heads high despite the loss. Tonmawr beat Penlan 51-5. Three West Central B leaders Baglan enjoyed a 38-10 home win over Alltwen.

Dan Blethyn, Ryan Compton, Chris Wilde, Craig Gregory, Sam Hives and Tom Manchipp all dotted down, with Blethyn kicking the rest of the points.

Bryncethin are five points back after they scored three tries in a 25-3 home triumph over Glyncorrwg.

Shane Howells, Josh Evans and Lloyd Bradley, who also kicked two penalties and two conversion­s, were on the scoresheet.

There were also victories for Crynant, Banwen and Cefn Cribwr.

Furnace United were unable to take advantage of Three West Central leaders Penygroes not being in action as they went down 20-16 at Ogmore Vale.

Adam Jones and David Price got the tries for Ogmore. Furnace are 13 points behind Penygroes but have two games in hand.

Cwmgwrach, South Gower and Tonna also bagged wins.

Leaders Felinfoel made it 11 victories from 13 games in One West as they beat Crymych 39-13.

They currently boast a 10-point advantage as well as a game in hand over Gowerton, who put in a five-star display to beat Tenby United 32-0.

Llangennec­h slipped to third after going down 24-19 at home against Dunvant.

Rhys Davies’s try along with a conversion and four penalties from Brandon Wood were not enough for Llan as Sam Hawkes and Jordan Jackson tries, along with 14 points from the boot of Adam Williams-Parry, saw Dunvant take the spoils.

A last-gasp penalty from Rhydian Morris snatched a 14-12 win for Yr Hendy over Whitland.

It was one of three penalties for Morris against four from Whitland kicker Nico Setaro. Hendy’s Dyfan Williams scored the only try of the match.

Sion Cowdy helped himself to four tries as Aberystwyt­h thumped Kidwelly 61-10.

In Two West, two tries from Tom Howell along with scores from Matthew Evans and Matthew Donohue helped leaders Penclawdd beat Carmarthen Athletic 26-16.

Howell kicked two conversion­s and there was also one from Olly Smith.

Peter Smiriglia, Dan George and Neal Lewis went over for Loughor in a 30-26 win against Pontarddul­ais, with Tom Davies kicking 15 points.

Pontyberem scored nine tries in a 66-9 defeat of Mumbles, while Richard Evans bagged a brace in Tycroes’s 23-18 home win over St Clears.

Evans also kicked two penalties and a conversion. Elgan Griffiths was Tycroes’s other scorer.

Jac Howells scored the St Clears try, with two penalties and a conversion from James Davies.

Burry Port were beaten 60-30 at home by Pembroke and Tumble lost 34-14 at Fishguard.

There were wins in Three West B for Amman United, Betws, Cefneithin, Llandybie and Trimsaran.
