THE monthly meeting was held at Peniel Hall on Thursday, January 10.

Minutes of the last meeting in December were read and approved. Birthday wishes for February were wished to Shan. The sum of £70 was donated from the Christmas bran tub to the Salvation Army towards their provision of Christmas lunch.

Anne read a thank you note received for the donation and informed members that she had been shown around the building and amazed at the work carried out by the Salvation Army in Carmarthen. An open invitation was issued to members to visit the building in the future.

Members paid the annual membership of £42 to Janet. The resolutions for the year were discussed briefly and voted upon. Discussions continued for a choir on the annual St David’s Day concert to be held in Peniel Vestry on March 7.

Mabel announced that there will be a social outing for coffee on Thursday, January 31, at 11am to the Four Seasons, Nantgaredig.

Following the meeting members enjoyed a very interactive evening of playing the ukulele demonstrated by Richard Keen. Richard spoke of the history of the instrument and all members were given an ukulele to play following his instructions. A very enjoyable evening.

Monthly competition winners of ‘anything to do with music’ were Wendy and Hazel.

The date of the next meeting is Thursday, February 14, at 7pm.
