Prohibition of parking The county council is currently consulting on a proposal to prohibit parking along part of Heol Cwmmawr, and the closing date for comments is February 8 . The precise location is on the eastern side of Heol Cwmmawr from the Hen Ffordd junction, down the hill past the Uwch Gwendraeth junction. The proposal has arisen because of some indiscriminate parking in the bus bay, especially when there is some event on in Neuadd y Gwendraeth and the overspill into Hen Ffordd and Uwch Gwendraeth.

Public consultation Carmarthenshire Council is currently consulting the public on the Local Development Plan - candidate sites and this has aroused a lot of interest in so far as it applies to the communities of Drefach and Capel Seion. In response to the interest in the proposals, the Welfare Association has arranged two awareness-raising sessions. The first will be held in the Welfare Hall on Saturday, January 26, between 1pm and 3pm. The second will be held on Wednesday, January 30, between 4pm and 7pm, again in the Welfare Hall. Whilst open to all in the village, these sessions are targeted at those people who do not have a computer, nor access to one, so they will have been unable to see the detailed proposals. Copies of the plan identifying the proposed candidate sites will be available to view at the sessions.
