Trots ladies hit top form

TAF Running and Orienteering opened the year’s racing calendar with full men’s and ladies’ teams in the fourth West Glamorgan League fixture in Port Talbot.

In the ladies’ race, which boasted a record field of 250, Melissa Watson and Mary Anthony were first in their respective age categories in eighth and 12th.

Behind them were Isobel Dawson in 25th, Mair Morgan 81st, Rebecca Dilks 89th, Alys Williams 117th, Sandra Williams 138th, Jayne Evans 151st and Yvonne Davies 207th.

Nick Merrony led the men’s team in 85th, just ahead of promising junior Luke Evans in 86th.

Aled Jones-Davies was 97th, Simon Scurrell 134th, Jim Dilks 181st and Andrew Russell 200th.
