Additional appointments for waste and recycling centres

-

ADDITIONAL appointments have been opened across all four of the household waste and recycling centres in Carmarthenshire.

The Wernddu centre in Ammanford is now also opening seven days a week from this week, and you can book an appointment now.

The council has assisted more than 8,000 residents to dispose of their essential household waste since the centres re-opened three weeks ago.

Visits to the recycling centres are by appointment only for essential use to dispose of any household waste that poses a potential health and safety risk at home.

Residents can make an appointment at any time and choose a slot that’s convenient to them for the following seven days by visiting carmarthenshire. gov. wales/ recyclingcentres

Appointments are currently limited to one a month.

Residents are being reminded that entry to the site is at any time within the half hour appointment slot made – residents don’t need to attend at the start of the slot and may find less of a wait going later on.

Please remember to ensure all waste is sorted and separated before visiting so that as much waste as possible is recycled in the relevant containers on site.

Executive board member responsible for environment councillor Hazel Evans said: “We’ve been monitoring the situation daily and are now able to increase the number of appointments in the day at all our sites as well as increase Wernddu to seven days a week.

“We continue to review the situation and will update our website with any changes.”
