Free to park on Sundays

SHOPPERS and visitors to Carmarthen will be able to park for free all day on Sundays right up to Christmas.

The move applies to county council-run car parks across town and parking will also continue to be free in these car parks every Tuesday and Thursday after 3.30pm as it currently is.

The move was welcomed by Mayor councillor Gareth John, who said: “Saturday is busy and with public safety foremost in our minds it was thought the town would be best served during the lead-up to Christmas by encouraging more people to visit town earlier or later in the day or at quieter times of the week.”
