Arthur and Ilona Rees, Furnace Terrace, celebrated their 60 years of marriage on December 10. Family, friends, neighbours and fellow members of Capel Soar sent congratula­tions on the Pontyberem couple’s diamond wedding anniversar­y. Covid volunteers Liaised by the community council more shopping volunteers are sought to help deliver groceries and/or medicines to the Covid vulnerable. While there are a number of volunteers at present doing great service more assistance would be much valued. Post Office times The local post office, in CK’S supermarke­t, Coalbrook Road, operates from 8am to 8pm seven days a week.

Pharmacy NHS flu jabs The local pharmacy offers free flu jabs for those over 65 along with the at risk groups. Free flu jabs are to be arranged for those aged 50 to 64. Outside these groups a flu jab is available, subject to supplies, for £12.50. Check online at well. co.uk/flu
