Hellbent on closing town

- Jim Crawford Carmarthen

I WROTE to Carmarthen Council many years ago informing them that if King Street was to prosper they should restore full street parking of half an hour the length of the street.

I also wrote to Alan Speake recently, complaining about the so-called social distancing of car parking places in Blue Street, and Lammas Street.

He agreed with me, and also cannot understand why the council seem to be hellbent on closing Carmarthen down.

I have not shopped in King Street since the lockdown, and will never do so again! People want to park, walk in, buy, and drive away, what about disabled and elderly people, do their needs not matter?

Why do you think people shop in places like Trostre and Pemberton – because they do not have to pay for parking, and can walk into a shop, buy and drive away.

No wonder shops are closing in King Street, this street has been dying for years.

I would also like the council to tell me, where are the reported cases of cars catching Covid? I thought that only people could!
