CANCER FEARS AS ONE IN SEVEN OF US DON’T HAVE AN NHS DENTIST
MOUTH cancers could be going undiagnosed as one in seven people have no access to an NHS dentist.
A report found eight million Brits are still waiting to join a practice.
The Association of Dental Groups study warned of “potentially over a million” fillings not done.
Chair Neil Carmichael said: “These figures represent real suffering. A host of treatments are piling up, as well as undiagnosed mouth cancers.
“Even when Covid curbs are lifted, dealing with this will take months.”
The AODG said the system is underfunded and called for more dentists to be drafted in.
