Church news You will of course be aware that in order to ensure the safety of everyone we are not allowed to hold services at Llansteffan Church in January although all the conditions will be reviewed mid month as we really want to open our doors as soon as possible. Suffice to say that during this horrific period for us all your church is here for you with ministry team, clerical team and worship leaders along with officers and virtual friends. Please talk to us if you think it would help. Contact Canon Ann if you would like further details about the help available on Facebook or Zoom. Be assured we will get back together in our 12th Century church to the benefit of all and will give thanks.

WI meeting 2021 meetings begin on Monday, January 11 with a Zoom meeting starting at 2.30pm. Watch out for the given link to be issued preceding the Monday and it would be great if many of our members could join the meeting. It will be something new for us as our newest member Julia Atkins will be giving a craft demonstration. Julia is skilled in many ways particularly in creating unusual jewellery. Something to look forward to in the new year. Best-decorated house results What a wonderful response to Roger’s request to light up the village for Christmas. In total 107 properties were lit up and judging was very difficult. All areas of the village were covered, and much backtracking took place but eventually first place went to Rachel and Julian in Millbank for their majestic display in Old School Road. In complete contrast at the top end of the village adjoining houses but with very different displays, joint second prize was awarded to Angie and Darren Sainty and Linda and Andrew Lamb. Taking third place was Sarah Carter and family at Park Villa who had each window illuminated in a traditional and impressive display. Highly commended was Orchard House and the adjoining houses of Rhian Evans and Delyth Davies at Glan Y Mor. A brief presentation ceremony took place on the Square on Christmas Eve where the lucky prize winners were able to toast their success with some hot mulled wine provided by our Mock Mayor Roger Davies. Well done to everyone for their efforts to cheer us all this Christmas in particular.
