Teenage cyclist airlifted to hospital

A TEENAGER was taken to hospital with serious injuries after he was hit by a car while on his bike in Ammanford.

The 15-year-old boy was riding his bike after dark on Sunday evening when he was hit by a blue Audi at Capel Hendre Square.

Emergency services were called to the scene just after 8.30pm and the boy was airlifted to hospital.

Dyfed Powys Police is now appealing for witnesses who may have seen the crash, which happened at the junction between Waterloo Road, Hendre Road, Saron Road and Lotwen Road in Capel Hendre.

The serious collision unit are investigat­ing the circumstan­ces around the incident.

The police force has issued the following appeal on Monday: “Appeal for witnesses to a RTC, which occurred at 8.35pm, Sunday, January 10 at Capel Hendre Square, involving a blue Audi car and a pedal cyclist.

“The 15-year-old male cyclist was airlifted to hospital.”
