Store bid to bring 15 new jobs to town
SUPERMARKET name Co-op has announced plans to open a new store in Garnant which will create up to 15 jobs.
The £650,000 investment will see the former Arcade Terrace site transformed into the new store, which has an opening date in July.
The shop will run on 100% renewable electricity, bosses said.
John Hillman, Co-op acquisition manager in Wales, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to open a new store in Garnant.”
Garnant county councillor Kevin Madge said the announcement was welcomed for the community adding: “It has been a 30-year campaign to see Arcade Terrace transformed and I welcome this latest development from the Co-op.”
