THE May meeting was held through the medium of Zoom again, with thanks to Elizabeth. Nine members were present and those unable to attend would receive an email or written report as appropriate.

The minutes of the last meeting were approved and signed. Marion had enjoyed the art appreciation Zoom with Carwen Eales and thanked the art and leisure committee for arranging the event.

Margaret and Marion would be attending the virtual resolutions meeting regarding ovarian cancer on May 19 and the fashion show on the 25th of the month.

The monthly newsletter was read with Eluned still virtually attending the book club. A letter from NFWI regarding the Wales Summer Festival was read and the schedule too. The dragon competition arranged by the federation is in hand and it is hoped a dragon will be completed by the end of June and the clues sent to the office by May 25.

The celebration of the 95th. birthday of the Federation to be held at Pembrey on September 18 was also detailed, with the institute as part of the Gwenllian Group with Amanwy Group will be responsible for providing cakes for a stall. There will also be stalls for a tombola, accessories, books/hobbies and crafts, plus gardening and produce on this day. The dragons will also be at this show to be judged on that day.

Margaret has dealt with the MCS data and advised it of members’ email addresses to be recognised by MY WI when they log on to it.

Debbie and Marion have completed their entries for the Lady Denman Cup competition and will deliver same to the Federation office.

Margaret and Marion have photographed the institute’s banners and our pre-covid venue for meetings, together with details of those involved in the construction of the banners, to be sent to Pat, Federation secretary.

We hope the June meeting may be in the village hall again, and with that hope the meeting concluded.
