Road safety action needed Nearly a year has elapsed since community councillor­s made known their concerns about speeding vehicles breaking the 30mph limit through Bancffosfe­len, especially by the primary school; so far no safety action plan has emerged from Carmarthen­shire Council. The campaign to get 20mph calming outside the school, a county wide policy, is a top priority. A number of locals are actively pressing on for highways safety measures to be put in place.

Chemist times Monday to Friday trading hours of the local pharmacy are 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 5.30pm. Inside the store there is a maximum of two customers at any one time.

Post Office The village hall hosts the community Post Office on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday between 2pm and 4pm. Times may vary due effects of the virus pandemic.

Meddygfa Tywyn Bach Surgery Burry Port surgery politely ask that you do not contact your GP practice or health board at this time to ask about an appointmen­t for your second dose of the Oxford Astrazenec­a vaccine. If you received a first vaccine you will be contacted when it is your turn for a second dose.

Recycle your garden pots Drop them in the collection tub in the Memorial Hall car park provided by the town council. They will re-use them to provide flowers for the community or if you need some then help yourself.

Dog thefts Dyfed-powys Police have set up a taskforce to tackle dog thefts and have allocated a chief inspector to lead the operationa­l response. Please update the police with any informatio­n you think will help them with their investigat­ions by any of the following methods: 101@dyfed-powys.pnn.police. uk, call 101, or 999 in an emergency. Dog fouling in Pembrey and Burry Port The enforcemen­t department of Carmarthen­shire Council are grateful for the informatio­n received of the many areas of particular concern,which will be shared with the various officers who patrol our areas and hopefully their presence will help reduce the problem and catch some of the offenders.
