Your views on: Bypass to go ahead; sprawling mansion for sale

-

LLANDEILO’S long-awaited bypass will go ahead despite the Welsh Government’s freeze on new road projects. Residents have called for action for decades to prevent lorries driving through the main street, causing heavy congestion. Here are some of your views . . .

Stephen John Vehicles wouldn’t have to go onto pavements if people did not park so awkwardly. Most professional drivers give way to each other in Llandeilo, showing courtesy. Samantha Gualdino Lloyd A daily occurrence in Kidwelly despite a bypass having been built years ago. Melissa Johnson Same in Pencader, main route out to the coastal towns, we live on the narrow part and two lorries or a tractor can’t pass and mount the curb frequently and footpath dangerously narrow. Michael Gough Welsh Government needs to re-look at its decisions on roads, they will turn the whole of Wales into an area that it is impossible to do business in and then wonder why its levels of poverty keep increasing. The M4 is a joke and the rest of the road infrastructure isn’t far behind. Sort yourself out, Mr Drakeford.

Kate de Buriatte This will be the Llandeilo relief road, with the original start date of 1939.

Adam Whitehouse About time! Ridiculous situation when you look at the size of bypasses of other towns.

David Foulds Huge articulated trucks should be banned from cities, towns and villages and only used to mass transport goods from distribution centres to local hubs that are not in residential areas or town centres. This continual pandering to the logistics lobby will only encourage them to develop even bigger trucks. We are a small, condensed and congested country. It’s about time delivery vehicle’s adapted to our environment instead of us tarmacing every inch of countryside to accommodate them.

NESTLED in Llangunnor is an expansive mansion sitting within 1.8 acres of land that’s cheaper than a four-bedroom home in Cardiff. Here’s what you said about it:

Bethan Harris This has been on the market for years, sadly.

Joann Cathrine Mctaggart I can dream on. It would make a stunning care home.
