Kaiser Chiefs postpone outdoor gig

-

THE Kaiser Chiefs have postponed their huge outdoor gig at Ffos Las Racecourse in Carmarthenshire. The concert was expected to go ahead on Friday, August 27, rounding off a full day of horse racing.

A new date has been announced for Thursday, June 2, 2022.

The band were due to play the Trimsaran venue last May, but the event was postponed due to coronavirus, which was then rescheduled, and has now been shifted again due to Covid-19 rules over capacity restrictions at the racecourse.

In a statement, Ffos Las said: “After much consideration, we have decided to move the Kaiser Chiefs live concert after racing on Friday, August 27 to Thursday, June 2, 2022.

“The current Covid restrictions governing attendances at race meetings means we are only allowed to have up to 4,000 spectators.

“Clearly, the Kaiser Chiefs event is going to sell far more tickets than this, so we have made the decision to hold the show next year.”

The band, who have seven critically acclaimed and Top 10 charting albums under their belt, have performed at some of the biggest events in recent years including Live 8 and the 2012 Olympics closing ceremony, and have won a host of awards including Best Live Act at both the Brit Awards and Q Awards.

The Kaiser Chiefs, whose top 10 hits include I Predict A Riot and Ruby, are the latest artists to have played at Ffos Las, following on from Madness and Jason Donovan.

The new Kaiser Chiefs date will be the first day of the four-day Whitsun Bank Holiday to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee which runs from Thursday to Sunday.
