Recycling Previously-unrecyclable soft plastics can now be recycled. You will now be able to recycle such items as crisp packets and cling film and much more at Tesco’s superstore at Park Street, Ammanford.
Ammanford Lions Club has said a massive thank you to Dunbia and Evans and Hughes Optometrists for their used spectacles. The club has sorted them and boxed them up, 640 pairs of specs in total. Unfortunately, at present we are stockpiling them and hope they can be despatched soon via the usual channels to be refurbished and distributed to those in need.
Bereavements Deepest sympathy is expressed to all the family, following the sad passing away of William David Evans, of High Street, Llandybie, who died peacefully on June 10 at his home. David was the loving husband and friend of Gillian, devoted father of Andrew, respected father-in-law of Samantha and a dear grandfather of Jack and Emma.the funeral took place at Llandybie Parish Church on June 18.

Bu’r angladd yn Amlosgfa Llanelli ar Mehefin 25.
Christian Aid total Ammanford Christian Aid committee are so grateful to all the chapels,churches and individuals who so kindly donated to Christian Aid Week this year,this being the 75th anniversary. It is so pleasing to be able to announce that a wonderful £2,000 was raised. An incredible amount, considering it was raised in a difficult year for raising funds due to the pandemic. Thanks also to all the committee members for their continued invaluable support.
Capel Hendre OAP news Mary Burgess is reported to be very unwell and hospitalised at the time of writing;she also unfortunately is suffering from a broken arm. Dewi and Glynis Daniels have recently suffered the sad loss of their son-in-law and we extend our sympathy to them, their daughter Llinos and children.
