Davies hits form during Whites win
IT proved a competitive affair at Morfa Social in the first division of the Llanelli Snooker League as the home side were edged out 4-3 on aggregate countback by visiting Legion Whites.
Rob Davies (45 break), Keri Phillips and Garnet Lane won for the Burry Port side. Rob Hughes, Andrew Hatto and G. Davies won for Morfa.
Adrian Gower made a fine 52 break, with Peter Kelly also on top, but Reading Room Blues crashed 5-2 to Gorseinon Workmen’s A. For the Brighton Road cuemen, Roy Wilcox, J. Davies and the Murrells pair, Keith and Luke, were on the ball.
Nigel Lewis and Kevin Lewis were Ponthenri Social’s winning pair in a 5-2 reverse at the hands of Matchroom Whites. For the Gwyns, C. Davies, D. Roberts, N. Davies and Tom Twigg struck.
Jamie Tudor (54) and L. Lloyd were Trimsaran’s victors as they slumped 5-2 against Snooker World Whites. For the Ammanford men, Anthony Krysa (48), Sam Hinton, John Meadows and Andrew Whitfield all won.
Pontyberem Workmen’s swept to a 6-1 victory against Upper Tumble Blues courtesy of K. Evans, A. Harris, P. Rees, Emyr Bowen and Karl Goble. Only D. Treharne’s frame win prevented a whitewash.
Cross Hands B, for whom Alex Dickie and Paul Martin struck, lost 5-2 at Llanelli Cons A, for whom Keith Moore, Mike Moore, Mark Sargent and Paul Evans won.
In division two, wins from Kurtis Myhill, L. Powell, E. Anderson, C. Barrett and Aaron Cruickshank gave Bryn & Trallwm B a 6-1 win against Reading Room Reds, whose solitary point was from C. Evans.
Sion Isaac and Liam Mcghee struck for Llandybie RFC, beaten 5-2 by New Lodge, whose winning quartet were Martin Tucker, Phil Eyers, Phil Thickett and Roy Morgan (23 clearance).
C. Sharples and J. Jones were Bryn A frame-winners in a 5-2 loss at Pontarddulais Cons B. For the Bont men, Mark Aberstraw (39), Keith Williams, Rob Davey and David Gabe won.
Callum Fuge, Steff Rees, Alan Jones, Linden Cox and Peter Howatson (Chris Waters 30 break) earned Snooker World Blues a fine 6-1 victory against Tycroes RFC, whose only winner was Paul Garritty.
Matchroom Blacks beat Gremlin Club 4-3 thanks to Rhys Morgans, Shane Williams and Thomas Williams. Gremlin Club’s replies came via R. Burt, R. Barney and Gavin Stollery.
Llandybie Social B won 5-2 at CGMD courtesy of Brian Jenn, Howard Wood, Peter Watkins and Steve Pearson. For the Fishermen, James Varney and Wyn Llewelyn netted frame wins.
