A RARE HICCUP FOR TROSTRE

-

TROSTRE AFC dropped their first points at home this season when held to a 3-3 draw by Killay in the Premier division of the LTC Mobility Carmarthenshire League.

Despite a couple of well-taken goals by Ashton Jones, plus another from Rhys Griffiths, Trostre failed to make it seven wins on the bounce at home but still find themselves 10 points clear of second-placed Pontlliw in the table.

After a below-par start to the season, Loughor Rovers are in a rich vein of form at the moment and made it two wins in a row when defeating visiting Burry Port 2-1.

Although there wasn’t much to choose between the teams, Loughor looked the more threatening in front of goal and just about deserved the points thanks to Mike Grimwade and Darian Burt.

In division one, FC Carmarthen dazzled in a stunning 7-1 win at home to Llangennech.

Striker Tomos Walters netted a hattrick, and there were goals for Osian Thomas, Rhodri Noakes and substitutes Lewis Byng and Dean Oliver.

Camford Sports returned to their best with a hard-earned 3-1 win at Drefach. Striker Paul Fowler was the difference between the teams with two of the goals, while Jac Griffiths also found the net.

Leaders Felinfoel won 4-2 at Bancffosfelen. Goals were scored by Sam Ashford, Adrian Tucker, Tom Roberts and Chris James.

Coming off three league defeats on the bounce, Llandovery Town hit back with a comfortable 3-0 win at Johnstown. A brace of goals by Dan Pearce helped Llandovery get back to winning ways.

It has been even more of a struggle in recent times for Llandeilo, and the 3-0 defeat at home to Kidwelly Town means they have now gone eight league games without a win. Seven of those were losses.

Most of the pressure in the 90 minutes was applied by Kidwelly, a hattrick by Alex Kay proving the difference between the sides at the final whistle.

Caerbryn beat visiting Pembrey 5-2 in an important game in the fight for the title in division two.

After creating the better chances, Caerbryn eased clear thanks to goals from Lewis Rees, Olly Dymond, Cameron Jones, Simon James and Kieran Jones.

There is no change at the top of reserve division one, Loughor Rovers staying two points clear of the pack following an eye-catching 8-0 win at home to Pengelli United Reserves.

Striker Dave Mcewan was in the thick of the action with a hat-trick,

Ben Price scored two, and there were also goals for Joel Goddard, Matthew Protheroe and Dylan Goddard.

Reserve division two leaders Loughor Rovers A weren’t in action but stay top, while reserve division three leaders Bwlch Rangers strengthened their claim for the title with a 5-3 win at CP Suburbs.

Striker Dai Lewis struck twice, while also on target were Jesse Howell, Shane Price and Nathan Ford.

A hat-trick from Joe Pulman helped Burry Port A defeat visiting Llandeilo Town Reserves 3-0, and there was a 4-1 win for Llangennech A against visiting CK Swiss Valley A.

But it wasn’t as easy as the scoreline might suggest for Llangennech, with two of their goals coming from Leeroy Bakaska in the 87th minute and Rhys Howells in the 90th. Liam Fry scored the other two goals in six minutes in the opening half.
