Over 100 jobs up for grabs with the council

- Council leader Emlyn Dole

AS an employer, I’m not sure you could get more diverse than a local authority in terms of the job opportunities it provides.

Right at this very moment, we have over 100 jobs up for grabs, ranging between casual vacancies to join our school crossing patrol team, to social carers and social workers, to occupational therapists, cleaners, campsite wardens, teaching assistants, recycling advisors and more.

Perhaps you’re thinking of applying to come and work with us – you would be right to do so as there’s nothing more rewarding than doing a job that will directly support your friends, neighbours and local businesses right here in Carmarthenshire.

As well as our flexible working policies and staff reward schemes, we are a living wage employer and ensure that our staff get every support they need, also helping our staff learn Welsh if that is what’s required to help us deliver bilingual services.

During National Apprenticeship Week this week, it’s only right that I spread the word about alternative routes into employment.

So, if you’re at a stage when you’re ready to start your career journey, why not consider an apprenticeship? We currently employ around 120 apprentices, and as well as being valuable players in our team they are able to learn as they earn.

We have some exciting opportunities in development – please keep your eye out and visit our website to find out more.

If you’re a recent university graduate we have some fantastic opportunities for you, too, with several great posts currently being advertised including jobs with our finance section, our policy, performance and data teams, and even our flood defence division.
