Not on a Sunday Fairground attractions are set to return to the village park for Friday and Saturday, March 10 and 11. But a majority on Pontyberem Community Council voted to prevent the fair attractions being open on Sunday, March 12 due to traditional observance of the Biblical Lord’s day of rest which otherwise might cause offence to local worshippers.

Seeing yellow Councillor Liam Morgan Bowen announced to community councillors, at their March meeting, that he had a commitment from the county council to consider introducing double yellow lines along a stretch of Llannon Road to ban parking and improve road safety. The section is along the crest and bend of the road outside residential properties just further up from the Kingdom Hall; the former village infants school. In answer to questions Councillor Bowen stated that householders affected by the possible double yellow lines would be consulted during the next five to six weeks.
