DYLAN STARS AS RACE HAS FRESH TWIST

-

DYLAN Ashford was the star of the show on a weekend when the weather dominated the LTC Mobility Carmarthenshire League.

Only one game was possible in the whole of the league, but teenager Ashford was among the goals as the division two title race took another twist.

The fight for the title is on a knife edge. And Evans & Williams Reserves are back on top of the table following a comfortable 4-0 win at home to CK Swiss Valley Reserves.

Evans & Williams started the stronger, and took the lead early on through promising 16-year-old Ashford.

The same player scored a second to make it 2-0 at half-time.

The home team had to wait until the 80th minute for the third goal, which was scored by 52-year-old Johnny Perrott.

A minute later, Perrott saw his effort deflected past the goalkeeper to make it four.

Despite the three points, secondplaced Caerbryn are just two points behind with three games in hand and are currently on a 15-match unbeaten run.

Trostre AFC were ready to play, but the Premier division champions were left frustrated when opponents Pengelli United failed to raise a team for their encounter.

Although awarded a 4-0 win and three league points as per rules, Trostre would rather have played the game in preparation for their away tie against South Gower in the quarterfinals of the West Wales Intermediate Cup on March 5.

Trostre are scheduled to complete their league programme this Saturday when they make the short trip to neighbours Trallwm.

In other games, Loughor Rovers and Pengelli United host Seaside and Killay respectively.

Felinfoel have already been crowned champions of division one. There were no games played in any of the reserves divisions.

Not a ball was kicked in the West Wales Premier League.
