Concert On Friday, March 25, a memorial concert for Eirwyn Richards will be held at Saron Chapel at 7pm. This will be an evening of music, with Eirwyn’s sons Timothy and Nils and a brass ensemble, also Joyce Williams, Sophie Mcloughlin and Osian Clark. Tickets are £10 each, all proceeds towards Guide Dogs for the Blind; please contact Nicola (01269 594837) for further details. Mothers’ Union news Llandybie Mothers’ Union branch has decided to have an annual dinner, which is this Friday at the Red Lion from 12.30pm.

Pantyffynn­on Ward Action Group has now restarted its monthly table-top and craft sales at the Pensioners’ Hall, Ammanford; they are held on the first Saturday of each month, set up from 9am; please message Paula on 07917 1632421 to book a table or for more details.

Ammanford Pensioners’ Group is now able to meet on a regular basis and has resumed its regular gatherings; the branch meets between 1pm and 3pm at the Pensioners’ Hall every Wednesday. Entry is £1.50, which includes tea/

coffee, biscuits and a raffle ticket. Old and new members all welcome.

Bereavemen­ts Deepest sympathy is expressed to all the family following the sad passing away of Emily Perry, formerly of James Griffiths Road, Pontaman, Ammanford; Emily died on February 25 at Cartref Ael y Bryn, Penybanc, Ammanford, and was formerly proprietor of the Perrivale Inn, Pontaman (now the Red Kite), and was the widow of the late Joe Perry, and loving mother of Gay. Condolence­s are also extended the family of Peter Francis, of Teglan Park, Tycroes. ”Pete the Meat”, as he was fondly known, passed away peacefully at home on February 21; he was the loving husband of Linda, much-loved father of Stephen, Sarah and Victoria, caring Grampa of Joshua and Joseph, dear father-in-law of Lisa and Matthew and adored brother of Christine.

Thank you, David Caerbryn Village Hall committee has thanked county councillor David Thomas for helping to obtain a grant of £2,000 towards refurbishm­ent of the outside amenities in the hall grounds. This can now also be used as matched funding to draw down other grants towards the decking and the play area.
