Back on the Water “Glansteffan”, the amphibious boat especially commissioned for use on the Towy Estuary, is back home in Ferryside and is preparing for action over the Easter holidays. It is hoped that trips can start on April 15 and until then staff training will be taking place. As well as crossings between Llansteffan and Ferryside there will be longer journeys of 45 minutes available also depending on the tidal window. Operational meetings are being held to firm up arrangements so watch this space. All tickets and passes purchased during crowd funding will of course be reissued and honoured. At present the decision has been made that outside of school holidays operations will be confined to weekends, that is

Friday to Sunday. During the holidays the ferry will run daily. Keep up to date by visiting the website www.carmarthenbayferries.co.uk or email info@ carmarthenbayferries.co.uk

Fiesta frolics ahead It is that time again to put on your thinking caps in readiness for some fun. Fiesta week runs from Sunday, July 31 to Saturday, August 6 and several events will take place on successive days. The carnival will be a slightly pared down event with no marquee and final decisions will be taken on its form shortly. However there will be a mock mayor election in the hall on Friday, August 5 and the more candidates the better. Start preparing your election manifesto now. Another activity to be thinking about is the village-wide scarecrow competition and the theme is simply that it has to be a recycled scarecrow. The talent show is still a possibility so watch this space and check on Pobl Llansteffan for updates. A fun sports afternoon will be held on carnival day following the carnival procession. Still much to be decided but something to look forward to for everyone.
