DALTON ENJOYS A DREAM DEBUT

TALENTED youngsters Oliver Town and Robert Dalton made a mark on their debuts for Kidwelly Town as the Gwendraeth Valley side qualified for the last 16 of the Carmarthen­shire League’s TG Davies Senior Cup with a 9-3 win at Llandovery Town.

Dalton got his name on the scoresheet, while striker Alex Kay starred with a hat-trick.

Max Martin netted twice for the visitors, and there were also goals for Robert Hammond, Jordan Howells and Ollie Mackie.

Joining Kidwelly in the knockout stages are Pengelli United, who finished their programme top of Group C after a 6-2 win at home to West End United.

Striker Luke Rees claimed a hattrick.

And apart from being gifted an own goal, Riley Lewis struck twice for the home team. West End battled to the final whistle and were rewarded with goals from Stewart Hemingway and James Doel.

Burry Port completed their Group A programme on a winning note, defeating visiting Dafen Reserves 2-1 in a tight contest.

The home team eventually edged it thanks to goals from Jarad Edwards and Jamie Fleming.

There will be no cup glory for Caerbryn, but at least they finished their Group C programme on a high with a 4-2 win at home to Killay. It was 2-2 at the break.

The second half belonged to Caerbryn, who came out on top courtesy of a couple of goals each from Lewis Rees and Lloyd Bevan.

Camford needed maximum points from their away clash against CP Suburbs to qualify from Group E, and they produced the goods by winning 6-0.

There was a hat-trick for Jack Roberts.

Joel Andrews chipped in with two well-taken goals and there was one on his senior debut for 16-year-old Josh Harries.

There were a couple of midweek games in reserve division three, and runners-up FC Carmarthen completed their programme on a high with a 7-1 win at Caerbryn.

Striker Carl Elsom was again in the thick of the action with a hat-trick, and there were also goals for Robert Maynard, Tony Swift and Will Jones.

The home team added to their misery by conceding an own goal, but did get one of their own through Aled Saunders.

Striker Liam Thomas was on song with a hat-trick for Drefach A, who beat visiting CP Suburbs Reserves 6-4 in an entertaini­ng game. He took just eight minutes to score his first.

Fin Hayes netted in the 35th and 45th minutes for Drefach, and there was one for Craig Chandler.

The first tie in the last-16 stage of the Senior Cup was played last Friday evening and it resulted in a 7-0 victory for Seaside at home to Pwll Athletic.

Four of the goals for Seaside were shared equally between Leon Bonifacio and Tray Jenkins, and there was one each for Keith Honeybun, Jay Evans and Ben Honeybun.

Premier division champions Trostre AFC proved too strong for visiting Llangennec­h, a hat-trick by Liam Jones helping them to a 10-1 win.

Chris Waters made his mark with two goals, and there was one each for Rhys Griffiths, Christophe­r Pryce Williams, Ashton Jones, Nathan Jones and Jamie Jenkins.

Goals from Jamie Fleming and Lewis Bunyan helped visitors Burry Port to a giant-killing 2-1 win against Gorseinon Athletic.

The influentia­l Tom Roberts shone with a couple of well-taken goals for Felinfoel in the 4-1 win against visiting West End United.

Jordan Badman and Chris James added further goals. James Doel scored for West End.

Striker Joel Andrews scored a hattrick as Camford Sports claimed a 3-1 win at home to CK Swiss Valley Reserves.

Pengelli United beat FC Carmarthen 3-1 after extra time. Luke Rees scored twice and Shaun Rees was also on target. Lewis Byng replied.

In the first round of the Darch Cup, meanwhile, Seaside Reserves made ground advantage count when defeating Pwll Athletic Reserves 3-1. Joey Lloyd grabbed two of the goals, with the other claimed by Chris Dawe.

Burry Port Reserves made it a good day for the club, reaching the second round thanks to a hard-fought 4-3 win at Dafen A.

Two goals by Charlie Taylor, plus one each from Jamie Dunleavy and Josh Element, were enough for Port.

In the only league game played, reserve division three champions Bwlch Reserves completed their programme in the best possible fashion when winning 6-1 at Pembrey.

There was a hat-trick for Shane Price, plus goals for Jason Morris, Liam James and Jesse Howell.
