Reds looking to maintain fine start to campaign

-

LLANELLI Town will be looking to take their impressive league form into cup action this weekend.

The Reds are one of four teams locked together on 14 points at the top of JD Cymru South after a fine start to the campaign which has seen them win four and draw two of their opening six matches.

Llanelli sit behind Briton Ferry Llansawel and Taffs Well on goal difference, with Cambrian & Clydach also on 14 points.

But it’s Welsh Cup action which will occupy manager Lee John and his players this weekend when the

Reds host Gwent-based side Goytre at Stebonheath on Saturday in the first round of the competition.

It will not be an easy challenge, with Goytre currently unbeaten in Ardal League South East and just two points behind leaders Undy Athletic.

Kick-off is at 2pm. Ammanford, who sit in mid-table in JD Cymru South, are also in cup action as they make the trip to Cwmbran Celtic.

It promises to be a close contest, with Celtic sitting one place above Ammanford in the league table.*
