Flu jabs available The Amman Tawe Practice are offering a chance for you to get your flu vaccinatio­n this year. If you are aged 50-64, or over 65, have asthma, COPD, diabetes, are pregnant, have chronic heart, liver or kidney disease, neurologic­al disease, are immunosupp­ressed, or are a carer, you all are urged to take up the offer. The flu jabs will be given at Cwmllynfel­l Hall on Saturday, September 24 (9am to 3pm), and then at Gwaun-cae-gurwen Community Hall, New Road, on Sunday, September 25 (9am-3pm). Bereavemen­t Very deepest condolence­s are expressed to all her family following news of the sad passing away of Cwmgors lady Mary Jessica Jones. Mary, of Heol y Gors, died peacefully on September 3 at her home. She was the much loved wife of Gwynne, loving mother of Anna and Marc, respected mother-in-law of Ruth, and a proud, cherished grandmothe­r of Eryn Jane. The funeral is on Monday at Morriston Crematoriu­m (12.30pm). Sunday free gigs continue at Cwmgors Rugby Club, and this weekend’s offering on Sunday afternoon will be Chip Shop Gravy, entry totally free.

Bereavemen­t Deepest sympathy is expressed to all her family following the sad news of the passing away of Gwaun-cae-gurwen lady Decima Jones, peacefully on August 28 at Morriston Hospital. Decima, of Leyshon Road, GCG, was the widow of the late Russell Jones, and was a much loved mother of Glesni and Huw, respected mother-in-law of Peter and Ann, loving grandmothe­r of Nerys, Nia, Gareth and Bethan,

Food Forward food boxes Collaborat­ing with Fareshare and Pembrey and Burry Port Town Council, Food Forward Burry Port is a Lotteryfun­ded project which supports local residents. Mobile library The county mobile library is available in the car park opposite Tumble Hall on Tuesdays from 1.45pm to 4pm. For those who may not be able to visit the mobile or other library, the book swap shelves will be available in the old library in the hall again soon. You may bring a book and swap it for another or just borrow a book and bring it back.
