Quins coach Jones looks for upturn in fortunes with Whites in town

-

CARMARTHEN Quins go in search of their first victory of the season on Saturday when they host Swansea.

The Quins have suffered two defeats so far. They lost 19-3 at home to Llandovery on the opening day of the Premiership season, then went down 34-14 at Ebbw Vale at the weekend in the new WRU Premiership Cup.

New coach Marc Jones will be keen to arrest that run, even at this early stage of the season.

Swansea have lost both of their league matches to date, though did find some form last weekend when comfortably beating Llanelli at St Helen’s.

Llandovery, meanwhile, make the trip to Merthyr.

If past battles are anything to go by, then a high-scoring affair is on the cards at The Wern.

The last three games between the two clubs at the ground have seen the Drovers win 43-36 and the Ironmen triumph 33-31 and 34-24.

Merthyr have a new coach in shape of former Wales flanker Rowland Phillips, who took over in the summer following the departure of Dale Mcintosh.

Narberth head to Bedwas in the Admiral Championship.
