ANDREWS ON GOAL RAMPAGE

-

SEASIDE striker Joel Andrews fired in 11 goals at the weekend to put his name in the record books.

Andrews went on the goal rampage in the first round of the West Wales Intermediate Cup as his side hammered Abergwili 15-0. His haul is a record in the competition.

Ben Honeybun chipped in with a hat-trick, and there was one for Tray Jenkins.

Also through to the next round are Llangennech, and head coach Nathan Mccauley was a happy man after the 7-0 win at home to Pembrokeshire League side St Florence.

It didn’t take long for Llangennech to open their account, with Liam Griffiths shooting them ahead in the fourth minute.

But for the rest of the opening half it was far from easy for the home team, and they had to wait until the 42nd minute before Alex Davies doubled the advantage.

David Lewis extended the lead on the stroke of half-time.

Lewis and Davies scored their second goals in the 58th and 68th minutes to make it 5-0, and the visitors gifted their opponents an own goal in the 75th minute before Kevin Evans rounded off the scoring.

Trallwm delivered a quality performance in the 6-1 win at home to Narberth.

It was one-way traffic for most of the 90 minutes and Trallwm made the pressure count with goals from Andrew Jones, Stephen Evans, Stef Evans, Christopher Ferrier, Jacob Powles and Chris Griffiths.

Back in charge of Trallwm is Ray Evans.

In contrast, there was little to choose between AFC Pontardawe and visiting Drefach, and it was a tie that could have gone either way.

A well-taken goal by Jordan Thomas eventually earned Drefach a 1-0 win.

There was a dramatic climax to the tie between Caerbryn and Ystradgynlais. Just when it looked as if extratime would be needed, up popped Oliver Dymond to bang in the winner on 92 minutes for Caerbryn.

It was his second goal of the game, while Lewis Rees also netted twice for Caerbryn.

In an all-carmarthenshire League clash, Ferryside proved too strong for KRUF in winning 7-4 away from home. Six of the goals for Ferryside were equally shared between Scott

Thomas, Robert Hammond and James Yarnton, while there was one for Joseph Hollis.

A goal from Jack Roberts wasn’t enough to save Camford Sports from going down 2-1 at Penclawdd. On target for the home team were Josh Allen and Shane Nicholas.

Burry Port beat Pembrey 4-0. Sam Saer scored two, with Josh Element and Ceri Evans (penalty) also on target.

Meanwhile, Matthew Davies scored four of the goals as Pwll Athletic won 7-0 at Sandfields.

Alfie Williams netted twice and Leo Boucher also scored.

Pengelli United are also through after beating West End United 4-1.

Riley Lewis, Kieran Burder and James Richards all found the net, with Luke Rees adding a penalty.

Gorseinon Athletic eased through by wining 8-1 at New Hedges Saundersfoot.

Matthew Brandon scored four of the goals, with Rokko Mccarley, Matthew Hurford and Owen Cartwright also scoring. They also had an own goal.

Llanerch Rovers bowed out when they were beaten 12-0 at home by Treboeth United. Jordan Hibbert scored five of the goals and Liam Davies added a hat-trick. Liam Manning, Cory Brain, Cori Jones and Jordan Williams also found the net.

Away from the cup, the Premier division game in the LTC Mobility Carmarthenshire League between Pontlliw and defending champions Trostre AFC was postponed because of a waterlogged ground.

In division one, Llandovery Town moved into second place in the table and just one point behind leaders Caerbryn following an eye-catching 8-3 win at Bancffosfelen.

For Llandovery, there were hattricks for both Chris Hyde and Ryan Bailey, plus one each for Mark Dyer and Sol Lake.

In division two, Ponthenri claimed a 4-2 win at Pontarddulais Town Reserves. Anthony Williams scored a hat-trick and Shaun Williams grabbed the other.
