Mayor to highlight community efforts

-

THE mayor of Carmarthen will host an event in the town on Monday to showcase the work of community organisations.

Community Connection takes place at St Peter’s Civic Hall, in Nott Square, and the morning session will offer organisations the chance to get together, share experiences and join up what’s on offer to support people in the town and surrounding area.

That afternoon between 1pm and 3pm, the public are invited to come along for a free cuppa and a cake with a chance to meet other people and access advice.

Among those represented that afternoon will be the town’s new community kitchen and canteen Cegin Hedyn, Age Cymru Dyfed, Carmarthen Foodbank, Community Money Advice, Carmarthenshire People’s First, Nacro, and Hwbtywihub.

Mayor Cllr Miriam Moules said: “I’m looking forward to meeting people who are working in the field in the morning for a chance to network together but also an opportunity for the public to find out what’s going on, maybe not just for themselves but also for a friend or neighbour.”
