Halloween disco Cwmgors Rugby Club are holding a Halloween party and disco on Saturday, October 29, starting at 6.30pm, with prizes for best children’s and adults’ fancy dress, a pumpkin carving competitio­n, much more, and lots of fun, come along and enjoy!

OAP Branch Gwaun-cae-gurwen OAP branch met at the Community Hall, GCG, for their monthly meeting on Thursday afternoon, October 6. Members during the meeting heard from a guest-speaker from Neath Port Talbot Council warning us of the various phone and TV scams etc to look out for and advice on the subject. Members’ birthdays for the month were announced, namely John Thomas, Sally Williams and Enid Evans. The lucky raffle winner was Dorian Evans. The next gathering will be on Thursday, November 3, at 2pm at the Community Hall, New Road, GCG, when all are welcomed to come along. Mental Health Day Pupils at Ysgol Gwaun-caegurwen wore an outfit that made them feel happy to school last Monday ,to mark Mental Health Day. Christmas dinner GCG OAP branch’s 2022 Christmas dinner has been booked for Cwmllynfel­l Hall, on December 8, the same venue as last year, which we thoroughly enjoyed.
