WE were pleased to welcome Marie Seymour to our October meeting where she displayed many of her crafts.

As a past member of the organisation whose late mother-inlaw was a president of the institute, Marie displayed two printed tea towels commemorating past times together with a photograph of a tennis competition. There were so many lovely crafts to inspire us all, knitting, applique, crochet and patchwork amongst her talents, which prove she never has idle hands!

Refreshments followed, then the minutes of the last meeting were approved and signed. The members who met at Tea Traders had enjoyed their time there last month.

The monthly letter was read and a number of items noted, including three members attending the county annual meeting, the craft day, London weekend, and Eluned anticipating the Norwegian fjords. The Book Club too has two members attending and six for the Christmas celebration.

The date of our December meeting has been changed to November 30 due to the school wishing to hold a concert in the hall on our usual date, the first Wednesday of the month.

Sandra as group convenor had not been contacted by Llansaint since the cancellation of the group meeting there due to the death of our late Queen.

Tickets were issued to those attending the tree celebration and diaries too. Suggestions for next year’s programme were proposed and accepted. We will contact the venues suggested for the Christmas dinner to be held in January and advise accordingly.

Marie kindly donated a pumpkin she had crocheted to the raffle and the two prizes were won by Pam and Jill.

Our next meeting will be the AGM on November 2 at 7pm in the hall committee room.
