Bruno grabs a brace as Albies find best form

-

EVANS & Williams got their inconsistent Macron West Wales Premier League season back on track with a 5-1 win at home to Cwm Wanderers.

The Albies raced into a threegoal lead by half-time through Luke Jones, Jonny Fagan and Bruno Forkuoh.

Oliver Ranford got Cwm back into the game briefly until the Albies added further goals from Kris Brown and Forkuoh, although they ended the game with 10 men when captain Mark Howells was sent off.

Dafen Welfare are the surprise package this season and are unbeaten in six league games.

They cemented second position in the table with an entertaining 4-3 home win against West End, who played their part in an excellent game.

Dafen took a 22nd-minute lead when Lennie Evans scored from the spot. Both Evans and Jac Cutler had efforts saved by West End keeper Chris Maunder although it was West End who equalised on the stroke of halftime when Dale Griffiths scored after a goalmouth scramble.

Rory John’s well-taken goal on 52 minutes gave Dafen the lead, but after some concerted pressure West End again equalised when Dale Griffiths bagged his second with a fine header.

A Matthew Hughes through ball set up Evans for his second with a good finish, but again West End replied almost immediately as Liam Jenkins in the Dafen goal diverted his save into the path of Kyle Jenkins, who made no mistake with the rebound.

The drama was not over. Jamie Phillips of Dafen picked up his second caution of the game after 88 minutes but it was the Bluebirds who won it in stoppage time.

The ball fell to Ross Jones on the left and his cross was cleared to Evans, who chested the ball down and volleyed home to complete his hat-trick. It was his eighth goal of the season.

Giants Grave earned a welcome three points with a 2-1 win against CK Swiss Valley at Parc Newydd.

Luke Price and Sam Williams got the Grave goals, with Rhys Roberts-alatti replying for CKSV.

Pontarddulais Town led Clydach 1-0 early in the second half at Coed Gwilym Park after Shaun Harris had given them a deserved lead from a Luke Benton cross. The home side recovered to win 2-1 to move up to fourth.

Both goals were scored by Ian O’gorman.
