Actor Ian Ogilvy, pictured, also played Simon Templar in the late 1970s in The Return Of The Saint.

He was also considered as a leading contender at one point to replace Sir Roger Moore as James Bond. Roger was invited to make a guest appearance in the new TV series, but was busy filming the movie Escape To Athena in Greece at the time.
