Reds stage astonishing comeback as Marsh clinches spot in next round

-

LLANELLI Town staged a magnificent recovery to clinch their place in the draw for the fourth round of the JD Welsh Cup.

The Reds looked down and out at one stage as they trailed by three goals just before the break.

But they showed great resolve to battle back as the hosts – hindered by the dismissal of Phil Mooney – lost their way.

The Druids took the lead with a Josh Roseberry-beamond goal in the 14th minute, but they lost Mooney to a red card moments later.

Playing a man down put them under a degree of pressure, but they sped into a 3-0 lead with further firsthalf goals from Nick Grogan and Josh Lock.

At that stage the JD Cymru North side looked to have the tie settled – but Llanelli had other ideas.

The Reds got back into the game via a penalty in added time at the end of the first half when Joe Hopkins converted from the spot.

Tim Parker then added to home nerves by making it 3-2 to continue the revival.

Llanelli, inspired by man of the match Thomas Hillman, then equalised through Nathan Logan.

And the comeback was completed in the 88th minute when Tyler Marsh stole the headlines by hitting the winner.
