Don Mclean and Friends in Concert BBC2, 9.15pm
If all you know about singer-songwriter Don Mclean are his hits American Pie and Vincent, then this evening of programmes is going to be rather educational – as well as tuneful. It begins with a chance to see him perform live in his first TV special from 1979, which also features The Jordanaires and Elkie Brooks.
