Late penalty drama as local rivals fight out a derby draw

-

AMMANFORD AFC and Cwmamman United fought out a 0-0 draw in FAW Cymru Reserves South West.

Ammanford started well with Anthony Finselbach strong in midfield. But Cwm launched a series of quick attacks with Fenton Andrews, Lewis Blofield and Glen Elsdon proving to be a potent front three.

Cwm keeper Leo Jones made a number of fine saves as Ammanford, prompted by Reuben Jones, upped the tempo.

The Cwm defence of Jordan Brophy, Guto Chandler, Sean Jewell and Osian Matthews worked hard, but it seemed all their efforts were to be in vain when a penalty was awarded to Ammanford for handball in the final minute.

The penalty was well struck, but keeper Jones went the right way and his excellent save ensured a point for both sides.
