Much-missed The village of Tai’rgwaith and surrounding locality was so sad at news of the recent passing away of a well-known and much-liked member of the community, Kevin Kelly. Kevin, of Cwmnanthir Terrace, Tai’rgwaith died peacefully on January 16 at the age of 75 at his home, following a 20-year battle with cancer which he so courageously fought. Kevin a Tai’rgwaith boy born and bred, formerly worked at the local opencast, and had also served in the army, stationed in many places around the world, including Aden. Subsequently, Remembrance Day and the local service at GCG Memorial each November was always an important part of his life. He was the beloved husband of Diane,a loving father of their daughters Nadine and Naomi, doting “grampa Kelly” of Shaun, Kieran and Bradley, cherished father-in-law of Michelle and Leighton, dear brother of Michael and the late Lee, and father of Christopher. Kevin will be sadly missed by his family, numerous friends and all who knew him. Our deepest sympathy to Diane and all the family on their sad loss. The funeral was on February 2 at Old Carmel Cemetery, Gwaun-caegurwen.
