Top Cats Report

Carpworld - - ECHOES - Shaun Mcnutt

Stephen Myers came over for his fourth visit to Topcats and this time was staying for three weeks with 15 full days fishing and three half days. Steve is a match angler and likes to keep accurate records of the fish he catches, on which bait, time, etc. The details that he gave me are mind blowing, as I knew he was doing well but not that well! In total he landed 224 fish with 11 different species, and with a total weight of over 9800lb. That’s an average of 13 fish per day. Steve managed Giant Siamese carp with four over 100lb – largest 135lb; six Amazon Redtails over 100lb – largest was 140lb; and also Arapaima to 160lb. This was a great holiday and he will be back next year for more. The pineapple pop-ups worked well, with little-andoften free offerings of corn. Also wafters were working in connection with a method feeder of tennis ball-sized bait that comprised corn, maize and crushed chopped boilies in the mix. We offer any length stay out here at Topcats, with break days from fishing to explore Koh Samui Island or just relax around the pool. Just email me with your requirements for a free quote. Topcats has just stocked three very large Giant Mekong catfish weighing 280lb, 295lb and 360lb. These complement our existing stock levels, providing a range of fish from 40lb to 380lb. These catfish are renowned for their fighting power and never give up, so you could be in for a long battle. They are filter feeders and take maize or method mix and are always hungry.
