River result in Germany

Carpworld - - ECHOES -

After a couple of short sessions on a very small river near his hometown, without much to show for his efforts apart from a couple of doubles and a few big bream, Tobias Steinbruck at last found what he was looking for. He caught one of the biggest residents of the area weighing in at 21kg (46lb 4oz). This was really the highlight of his winter fishing. For many weeks the water level had been extremely high. Too much rain right from the middle of December had made the fishing impossible for long periods but, with conditions finally coming right, he at last had his chance. His biggest fear was that this fish would leave the stretch in those bad conditions... but she stayed there – much to his relief! He actually saw the fish the previous day with five other carp behind a fallen tree, very close to the margin in one metre of water. The next morning, conditions were perfect. The air pressure dropped down and it was only -3°C in the night... all the other days it had been as low as -10°C! The first action came from a 9kg common at 10am, probably one of the other members of the group he’d sighted. He felt nervous but three hours later the special moment arrived – the big lady was hooked! A 15mm TG Active bottom bait on a rig comprising of a size 6 Nash Fang Twister and 25lb Armourlink, plus a Diffusion Camo Leader and a tractor lead made up the end tackle that did the job on that special day.

GERMANY: UNDISCLOSED Success in the cold for Tobias Steinbruck
