Estate Lake session

Carpworld - - OVERSEAS FISHERY FOCUS -

Steve and Joan Briggs made the short 3.5 hour drive from Calais to Normandy for their first experience of the beautiful Estate Lake. The season had only opened a week prior to their arrival and the news wasn’t great – just one carp and one sturgeon had been landed. Steve was still confident that things would turn out okay and after a look around the venue he found what he was looking for when he spotted several fish grouped up in the shallows. Steve reported: “As soon as I came to the stream inlet I disturbed several carp and I knew that I had found what I was looking for. Sure enough it wasn’t long before I started catching and it was quite clear that most of the action was going to come from that one area. That’s exactly how it panned out. I ended up with 17 fish landed and four lost, and all but two of the fish came from the inlet. I was using Nashbait Scopex Squid and tiger nut hookbaits over a mixture of crumbled boilies, hemp, maggots, maize and tiger nuts. I was really impressed by the venue, which is absolutely stunning, and the owner, Julie, is a real star! Although the weather was all over the place the action came steadily throughout the week at all different times. We were there also with Carl and Alex from Nash to make a film that will be released at a later date.”
